With this bronze statue of a horse, Martin Klein created an extraordinary animal sculpture. The figurine is reduced to the head and the neck of the horse and features the black colour of the third apocalyptic horse. The Horsemen of the Apocalypse are, according to the Book of Revelation, the messengers of the approaching apocalypse. The third horse is black and brings death and famine. The latter is implied in the sculpture by the artistic openings. The horse looks at the observer with vigilant eyes and perked ears. It does not only stand for the beauty of its species, but also for transiency. This bronze horse sculpture reminds us to live our lives to the fullest.

Martin Klein was born in Bischofswerda in 1979. After successfully studying business administration in Berlin, he reoriented himself and enrolled at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. Already during his art studies, he was a quite successful painter and sculptor. His style is versatile, which is what makes him so popular among art enthusiasts. It ranges from abstract art to contemporary art bronze and fibre glass sculptures. His choice of motifs ranges from humorous to erotic. Klein’s various techniques and clever approaches to the design of his sculptures‘ surfaces give them a unique character.
