The contemporary art sculpture “Two Souls” is Martin Klein’s interpretation of two souls living in one body. Inspired by Goethe’s “Faust”, the artist created this figurine. The exhibit was cast in bronze and impresses with its extraordinary design of a split personality. It is a single head which looks as if it is falling apart. This impression is created by the long gap which covers the face. The look of the bust seems to be pensive, almost sad and introverted. The conflict of the two souls is an almost tangible part of this work’s aura. A black marble base perfects the bronze figurine.

Martin Klein was born in Bischofswerda in 1979. After successfully studying business administration in Berlin, he enrolled at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. Already during his art studies, he was a quite successful painter and sculptor. His style is versatile, it ranges from abstract oil paintings to contemporary bronze and fibre glass sculptures with humorous and even erotic motifs. Klein’s various techniques and clever approaches to the design of his sculptures‘ surfaces give them a unique character.
