Marcel-André Bouraine (1886-1948) was born in Pontoise, France. The city of Pontoise became an artistic centre of France during the second half of the 19th century, attracting several painters. The work of the artist Bouraine, who from time to time also used the pseudonym Marcel-André Derenne, was characterised by the styles of Realism and Art Deco. Bouraine exhibited his work, inter alia, at the “Salon des Tuilleries” and the “Salon d’Automne”. Additionally, he created several miniature versions of French films.
